But people choose what news source they read. Everyone is bombarded with news, constantly, fake and otherwise.

News sources have always been biased (yellow journalism?), it's just that there has never been more of them and it has never been easier to reach a mass audience cheaply.

But fake news is better at shouting down, talking over and stifling those who are trying to publish the truth.

Fact is, conspiracy theories and crazy stories sell better than the truth, and people long to consume them.

We live in an increasingly desperate world, and people desperately need to believe in something, often more crazy than the truth.

Now excuse me, I'm going to meet up with my motorcycle gang members so we can solve the world's problems in our own way! ;-)
