Clever article/comic. The pursuit of happiness is ingrained in our psyche and express in the Declaration of Independence. It is interesting that the founders chose the phrase "pursuit..." instead of happiness itself as a right.

Happiness seems to be incidental to pursuing and indulging other things, the things you describe.

How many parents say that they just want their kids to be happy - I want mine to be free of inordinate anxiety. If they pursue the goals you describe, that will likely happen.

I'm not sure why your description of the subject is not more widely accepted; seems kind of obvious.
