I don't see the article so much as a presciption for change but more as an identication of a culture that has been weaponized, as it were.
There is no question that the democrats come across as arrogant to many groups. Arrogance almost nevers sells.
The election seems to have been a rejection of how the government works, even if the reason that it doesn't is largely due to the Right's culture of rejection and stonewalling.
McConnell did a great job of creating the appearance that all Pols were responsible for creating legislative gridlock and paralysis.
This went a long way in setting up the an anti-government referendum in this election. You could say it was politically brilliant but only those who are wholly unconcerned about the future of the country could revel in it.
