Interesting. I had a similar experience. I went out with a woman off a dating website. I did not recognize her until I had read her profile and viewed her photo a number of times — she looked vaguely familiar but i couldn’t put my finger on it.
When we met at a restaurant, we talked for about 20 minutes. I asked her a number of subtle questions about her occupation, family history, etc. Her responses were a little oblique but not outright false.
I asked her how she liked to be called, by her full name or the common nickname of it. Then I said, “or do you prefer being called Madame Secretary?” She then asked when I had discovered her identity. I told her it was before we met.
Then came the zinger: She asked me if I would still have gone out with her if I hadn’t discovered her identity in advance. ………Good one!!! Put me on the spot.
I answered in the affirmative, of course.
Nice date. Interesting person — we never saw each other again.
