When I see a company who advertises “we’re a family owned business for ____ yrs,” I conclude that they have had to hire every retarded and imbecilic niece or nephew who needs a job but can’t get one in the real world, a collection of incompetents.

Being a member of a “Family,” whether in a business or in a real family, means that you have to take unconscionable abuse from others.

And when you look at disputes in families, whether in a family business or otherwise, you are often seeing protracted hatred and litigation that goes on for decades and generations. Family disputes are typically the worst ones lawyers see.
